Another Failed Breakout

Finally we see increased volatility with Cable breaking-out to the upside, touching M4 resistance level and rolling over all the way to S1 support level. We are pleased that we capitalised on all major directional moves (up and down).

On the attached chart one can clearly see that we had three trades: (1) we took small profit when the market reached R1; (2) larger profit when the market retraced to PP; and (3) tiny profit when the market came down to S1 level.

Sideways Market Continues

The choppy markets continue, making it difficult for us to trade Cable. Our strategies continue to generate positive returns, but at a lower rate of return.

It is interesting to note that the 2011 strategy is again outperforming the 2010 strategy. Last week the 2011 strategy generated two trades and we made $158.95 profit, while the 2010 strategy had only one trade with a profit of $64.36; see respective charts with their equity curves.

Failed Breakout

The market continues its sideways movement and it is hard to make a profit under such conditions. Still, we had three trades (two profitable and one not so profitable) and made $268.80 with our 2011 strategy.   The 2010 strategy has really reached an expiry date and we had only one miserable trade with $21.33 profit. Below please find the respective Equity Curves. It confirms that it is time to shoot the slow horse and start a design of a new strategy for 2012.

February 2011

February 2011 was a clasical Cable market, ranging within 400 pips.  Our 2011 strategy returned $624.40 and our old (2010) strategy returned $502.40. See below the Charts with respective Equity Curves.




Last week we finally got the Cup & Handle breakout (on daily timeframe), but it faded away on Thursday and Friday.  Lets see if the Cable gains momentun next week or rolls-over.
